The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has increased the examination fee drastically. Students of the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) category will now have to pay 24 times more examination fee, while the students of the general category will also have to pay double the amount as before.
Notification has been issued. Hence from this session, students will have to pay an increased fee to register for the 10th and 12th board exams. As per the CBSE order, students of SC / ST class will now have to pay Rs 1,200 (24 times) examination fee instead of Rs 50 for a five-subject paper. At the same time, students will have to pay a fee of Rs 1500 instead of 750.
Students of SC and ST will have to pay Rs 300 separately for the additional paper, whereas, no fee was to be paid earlier. At the same time, students of general category will also have to pay Rs 300 for additional subject. Earlier, they had to pay Rs 150. Registration for Class 10 board examination is done in Class IX and students for Class 12th are registered in class 11.
The board has ordered schools that if the registration process has started in a school, then the students should be charged the increased fees. Registration of students not depositing fee will not be done till the last date.
The board has given relief to 100 percent of visually impaired students. They will not have to pay the examination fee. At the same time, the migration fee has been increased from Rs 150 to Rs 350.
Students enrolled in CBSE schools abroad will now have to pay a fee of Rs 10,000 instead of five thousand. Apart from this, these students will now have to pay a fee of two thousand rupees instead of one thousand rupees for additional paper.
